At their Rotary Cafe in June, the Rotary Club of Lantzville cooked up a great variety of food for the two-legged participants, supporters and spectators at the Nanaimo Kennel Club's Summer Show at the Brannen Lake Campsite - raising funds to be used to help Rotary help individuals and organizations in the Nanaimo area.
Lots of 'four-legged' contestants, from far and wide, to keep us entertained. After all, it was a the Dog Show of the year for Nanaimo.
Although it was hard work, it was an opportunity for some enjoyable Rotary Fellowship.
Hot dogs and hamburgers were the mainstay during the day.
And, of course, lots of french fries.
Friday and Saturday mornings, our "breakfast sandwich", created by a world-famous chef, was very popular.
Sunday, for a change, we offered pancakes and sausages.
Saturday evening, a special supper created by a couple of Rotarians.
The line-up for supper was l-o-n-g, but the chefs earned some well-deserved compliments.
We were busy. Every member of the Club who was able to, helped out at some point during the weekend. Plus some spouses and friends.
At least, most of them were busy...
The crowd was good, especially during the Saturday busy periods.
And, we did earn a bit of cash - to help us support various individuals and organizations in our community. THANKS!
